Scenarios Where FontVS Saves Your Time
Pick the Right Font for Your Brand
Switching fonts one by one in design software is slow and you can't compare them side by side.
Type your brand name, see it rendered live across 1,800+ fonts, and filter to find the best match.
Inspect an Unknown Font File
You received a font file but have no idea about its features, language coverage, or license.
Drop the file in — see variable axes, OpenType features, language support, and license info. Everything runs locally.
Check If a Font Covers Your Language
Working on a multilingual project, but not sure if your font supports the target character set.
Built-in coverage detection for 20+ languages. Missing glyphs are highlighted automatically.
Compare Local, Google & Custom Fonts
Local fonts, Google Fonts, and client files are scattered with no unified comparison view.
All three sources in one interface — filter, preview, and analyze together.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is FontVS really free?
Yes. The font browser, viewer, and file analyzer are free with no signup required.
Do my fonts get uploaded to a server?
No. All parsing and analysis runs locally in your browser. Your files never leave your device.
Which font file formats are supported?
TrueType (.ttf), OpenType (.otf), WOFF (.woff), and WOFF2 (.woff2).
Can I compare my local installed fonts?
Yes. On Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Arc), FontVS can access your locally installed fonts via the Local Font Access API.
Does it support variable fonts?
Yes. FontVS detects all variation axes and named instances, and lets you adjust sliders to preview each axis in real time.
How does language coverage detection work?
FontVS maintains curated character sets for 20+ languages. It checks the font's character map against each language's required glyphs and highlights any that are missing.
Can I use FontVS on mobile?
The font browser and Google Fonts viewer work on mobile. Local font access and file drop require a desktop Chromium browser.
Where does the Google Fonts data come from?
FontVS pre-indexes the full Google Fonts catalog. When you click a font, the actual file is fetched from Google and analyzed client-side.
